Simplify Your Spiritual Life
This month I am finding a lot of joy in leading a group at Cornerstone Church on Sunday mornings called Simplify Your Spiritual Life. It is based on Donald S. Whitney's book of the same name. But it hasn't just been a book study. We've listened to Yo-Yo Ma, examined the life of an aging Breckenridge ski bum, and focused on that "one thing" that the old cowboy Curly talks about in City Slickers. You know what we've discovered? That Jesus is the one thing needed (see Luke 10:42). Our goal? To have our souls renewed by pursuing "a sincere and pure devotion to Christ." (see 2 Corinthians 11:3). Our method? Recommitting ourselves to the spiritual disciplines and seeing them not as a duty, but as a Spirit-empowered path to freedom. You're invited to join us for our homework this week -- to take a prayer walk! Here's the assignment.
