The Joy of Hospital Visits

I just returned from Boulder Community Hospital, where I visited a man who underwent surgery yesterday. He is enduring trials of all kinds right now, and yet I left him more joyful than when I came to visit him. I think some of his joy rubbed off on me. He quoted Job 1:21 to me with a smile. "And he said, 'Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD." Hospital visits are becoming something I love to do very much, because I often get to be around souls like this man, and in the process the Holy Spirit strengthens my own soul.
